1. Who we are
Gulf Med Ethics is an independent online provider of continuing professional development (CPD) courses on ethics, professionalism, safe practice and remediation for healthcare practitioners. We run gulfmedethics.com.
We are not affiliated with, accredited, approved or endorsed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), the Ministry of Health, any health violations committee, the Sharia Health Panel or any other government body or authority. When we open editions for other Gulf states, the same applies to the health regulators, ministries, committees and other authorities of those countries.
Where we name a law, code, regulator or official service, we do so only to explain it. It does not mean that the body concerned has reviewed or supports our courses.
2. CPD hours and your registration
Our courses do not award SCFHS CPD hours, and they do not appear in Mumaris Plus automatically. SCFHS decides how any learning counts towards your registration. You can apply to SCFHS to have learning recognised, and SCFHS decides each application.
The hours shown for each course (2, 3 or 4 hours) are our estimate of the study time an average learner needs to work through the course and complete its assessment. They are not CPD hours awarded by any authority. Our SCFHS CPD hours guide explains how renewal works.
3. Not legal, medical or professional advice
Our courses, guides and other content are general education. They are not legal, medical, regulatory, insurance or other professional advice, and they are not a substitute for it.
They do not replace the laws and regulations that apply to you, the codes and policies of SCFHS and the Ministry of Health, your employer's policies, or advice from your employer, your malpractice insurer or a lawyer. Where our content and an official source differ, the official source applies.
If you are facing a complaint, investigation, committee case or claim, take advice about your own situation from a lawyer who practises in Saudi Arabia, your malpractice insurer or your employer, as appropriate.
4. No guaranteed outcome
A course can help you understand the standards, reflect on your practice and show what you have learned. It cannot decide anything for you.
We do not promise or guarantee that buying or completing a course, or showing a certificate, will lead to any particular result in a complaint, investigation, committee or panel case, registration renewal, licence application or employment matter. The body handling your matter decides for itself what weight, if any, to give your learning.
5. Certificates
When you pass a course's final assessment, you receive a certificate of completion. It is a record that you completed our course and passed its assessment on the date shown. It is not a licence, a professional qualification, a registration, proof of clinical competence or recognition by any regulator.
Each certificate carries a unique certificate ID. An employer or anyone else you show it to can check that the ID is genuine on our certificate verification page. We may withdraw a certificate that was obtained by misuse, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.
6. Accuracy and updates
We build our courses and guides from primary sources: Saudi laws and implementing regulations, SCFHS codes and guidance, and Ministry of Health publications. Anything we cannot confirm is left out. Our editorial standards explain how we check facts.
Laws, regulations, codes and official processes change, sometimes at short notice. We review our content regularly and whenever we learn of a change, but we cannot promise that every page reflects the latest position at the moment you read it. Before you rely on a rule, fee, deadline or process, check the current official source.
If you think something is wrong or out of date, email support@gulfmedethics.com with the page or course name and what you think needs correcting. We check every report against the primary source, and errors in legal or regulatory facts are corrected first.
7. Illustrative cases
Our courses and guides use scenarios and worked examples to show how standards apply in practice. These cases are fictional and written for teaching. Any resemblance to real people, patients, practitioners, facilities or cases is coincidental. Where a course mentions a published enforcement example, it is described from the official announcement without identifying anyone.
8. Links to other websites
We link to official websites and other sources so that you can check the original. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link does not mean that the owner of the website supports us or our courses.
9. Our responsibility to you
We take reasonable care to keep our courses accurate and our website available, but we cannot guarantee that the website will always be free from errors or interruptions.
We are not responsible for decisions made by SCFHS, the Ministry of Health, a committee or panel, an employer, an insurer or any other body, or for losses that arise from relying on our content instead of taking advice about your own situation. If we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the course concerned, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your rights under our Refund Policy or any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you.
10. Our other policies
Please read this disclaimer together with our Terms and Conditions, which govern buying and using our courses, our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data, and our Refund Policy. If this disclaimer and the Terms and Conditions differ, the Terms and Conditions apply.
11. Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this disclaimer when our courses, editions or the law change. The current version is always on this page. Questions about it are welcome at support@gulfmedethics.com.
