1. Who we are and these terms
gulfmedethics.com and the courses on it are provided by Gulf Med Ethics ("we", "us"). By creating an account or buying a course you agree to these terms, together with our privacy policy and refund policy. You can contact us at support@gulfmedethics.com.
2. What we provide
We provide self-paced online courses on ethics, professionalism, safe practice and remediation for healthcare practitioners, arranged by country edition. Each course includes learning sections, knowledge checks, a final assessment, a certificate of completion when you pass, and a reflective account template.
3. Education only: no advice, approval or guaranteed outcome
Our courses are education. They are not legal, medical, regulatory or insurance advice, and they do not replace advice from a lawyer, your malpractice insurer or your employer.
We are an independent provider and are not affiliated with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), the Ministry of Health or any other authority in the Gulf. Our courses are not accredited by, approved by or endorsed by any of them and do not carry SCFHS CPD hours. SCFHS decides how any learning counts towards your registration; you can apply to SCFHS to have learning recognised. Any committee or authority handling a case against you decides for itself what it accepts.
We do not promise that completing a course will lead to any particular result in a complaint, investigation, committee case, renewal or licence application.
4. Your account
You need an account to take a course. Give accurate details, including your name as you want it to appear on your certificate. Keep your login private and do not share your account; each account is for one learner. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
5. Buying a course
Prices are shown in the currency of the edition, which is Saudi riyals (SAR) for the Saudi Arabia edition. Any tax that applies is shown at checkout. Multi-course savings are applied in the cart as described on the site. Payment is taken by card through our payment processor. Your contract with us starts when we confirm your order by email.
6. Access to courses
You can access each course you buy for 12 months from the date of purchase. Your certificate stays available to download from your account after that period. We may update course content to keep it accurate; your access covers the current version.
7. Assessments and certificates
You must pass the final assessment with at least 80% to receive a certificate. Assessments must be your own work. The certificate shows your name, the course, the edition, the learning hours, the date you passed and a unique ID. It confirms completion of the course and its assessment only; it does not certify clinical competence or your right to practise.
We may withdraw a certificate if it was obtained by someone other than the named learner or by other misuse. With your permission, we will confirm the details of a certificate to an employer or authority that asks.
8. Acceptable use
You must not copy, share, resell or publish course content or assessment questions; let anyone else use your account; try to interfere with the site or its security; or upload anything unlawful. Do not enter patient names or other information that could identify a patient anywhere on the site, including in your reflections.
9. Intellectual property
The courses, assessments, guides and site content belong to Gulf Med Ethics. You may use them for your own learning and keep copies of your own certificate and reflections. Laws and regulations quoted or summarised belong to their publishers.
10. Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have viewed less than 20% of the course and no certificate has been issued. The details are in our refund policy.
11. Our responsibility to you
We take care to keep courses accurate and the site available, but we cannot guarantee that the site will be free from interruptions. We are not responsible for decisions made by SCFHS, the Ministry of Health, a committee, an employer or an insurer, or for losses that arise from relying on a course instead of taking advice about your own situation. If we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the course concerned. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to a purchase is the one shown on the site when you bought the course. We will tell account holders by email about significant changes.
13. Complaints, governing law and disputes
If you are unhappy with a course or with our service, please email support@gulfmedethics.com first. We reply within 1 business day and will try to resolve the matter quickly and fairly.
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which Gulf Med Ethics is established. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you under the law of the country where you live.
