Complaints, insight and remediation 6

After a complaint or concern (8 courses)

These courses deal with the process itself: how a 937 complaint or MOH inquiry reaches you, what the Sharia Health Panel and the Health Violations Committee look at, and how to show insight and a plan for change. The 4-hour core course is the anchor for anyone whose case has reached a committee; the others can be taken in any order.

  • Process courses: the core committee course and the 937 response course explain what happens and how to prepare a statement.
  • Evidence courses: insight, reflection and remediation planning help you put your learning into words and dates.
  • Looking forward: rebuilding trust, preventing recurrence and avoiding complaints help you return to work with less risk of a repeat.

Ethics and professionalism by profession (8 courses)

Each profession has a 3-hour ethics course written around its own duties in Saudi practice, and two shared 2-hour courses cover the SCFHS Code of Ethics and professionalism for every practitioner. Doctors have a separate professionalism course; nurses, dentists, pharmacists and health specialists pair their ethics course with the shared professionalism course.

ProfessionCore pair
DoctorsMedical ethics for physicians + Professionalism for doctors
Nurses and midwivesEthics for nurses and midwives + Professionalism for practitioners
DentistsEthics for dentists + Professionalism for practitioners
PharmacistsEthics for pharmacists + Professionalism for practitioners
Health specialists and techniciansEthics for health specialists + Professionalism for practitioners

Consent, confidentiality, records and communication (5 courses)

Most complaints touch at least one of these. The consent course follows the MOH Saudi Guidelines for Informed Consent, including the rules for young people aged 15 to 18 and for emergencies. The confidentiality course sets the duties in Article 21 of the Law beside the Personal Data Protection Law, which treats health data as sensitive. Records, communication with patients and families, and honest disclosure after harm complete the group.

Integrity, conduct and liability (6 courses)

This group covers the conduct rules that carry the heaviest penalties in the Law. Article 10 on self-promotion and Article 12 on commissions can bring fines of up to SAR 50,000. The probity course covers honesty in documents and credentials, including DataFlow verification of qualifications. Boundaries, dignity and respect, insurance claims and NPHIES integrity, social media and the 3-hour medical liability course make up the rest.

Safe practice and teamwork (4 courses)

Clinical competence and patient safety covers working within your SCFHS classification and privileges and reporting incidents. Safe prescribing covers controlled medicines and adverse drug reaction reporting to the SFDA. Safeguarding and teamwork in multinational health teams round off the group, the second reflecting how many Saudi teams mix nationalities, languages and training backgrounds.

Course lengths, prices and cart savings

Study timePriceCourses
2 hoursSAR 22919
3 hoursSAR 27911
4 hoursSAR 3191 (the core committee course)

The cart applies a saving as soon as it holds enough courses: SAR 115 off 3 or more, SAR 175 off 5 or more and SAR 290 off 10 or more. The saving is taken off the basket total, so you do not need a code.

Two ways to use the catalogue

After a concern. Start with the process course that fits the stage you are at, add one or two courses on the subject of the concern, and finish with a reflection or planning course. Keep the set small and focused; a committee is more likely to be interested in why you chose a course than in how many you took.

Planning ahead. Start with your profession's core pair, then add the courses closest to the risks in your work: social media if you post about health, prescribing if you handle controlled medicines, consent and communication if you see many families.

These courses and your SCFHS record

Our courses do not carry SCFHS CPD hours, and they do not appear in Mumaris Plus automatically. SCFHS decides how any learning counts towards your registration. You can apply to SCFHS to have learning recognised through the Recognition of CPD Hours service, at SAR 100 per application, and SCFHS decides based on relevance and depth for your field.

The SCFHS CPD hours guide explains the hours required for each category and how renewal works.

Choosing a course: questions

Which single course should I start with?

If your case has reached the Sharia Health Panel or the Health Violations Committee, start with the 4-hour core course. For a first 937 complaint, start with the response course. If you are planning ahead, start with your profession's ethics course.

Why does the 4-hour course cost more?

Prices follow study time. The core committee course is the only 4-hour course and costs SAR 319. It also has a longer final assessment, with 30 questions instead of 20.

Do I need a discount code for the bulk saving?

No. The cart takes SAR 115 off when it holds 3 or more courses, SAR 175 off at 5 or more and SAR 290 off at 10 or more.

Can I buy courses for colleagues?

Each course is for the person who studies it, because the certificate carries their name. A manager can buy several courses in one basket; write to support@gulfmedethics.com before buying for a team so we can set up access correctly.

Are the courses only for practitioners facing a complaint?

No. About half the catalogue is ethics, professionalism and safe practice learning that any practitioner can use between renewals.

Do the courses count towards SCFHS CPD hours?

They do not carry SCFHS CPD hours. SCFHS decides how any learning counts towards your registration, and you can apply to SCFHS through Mumaris Plus to have learning recognised.

How many courses should I take after a concern?

Usually three to five, chosen to match the concern. A short, focused set with a thoughtful reflection is easier to explain than a long list of unrelated courses.

What if I fail the final assessment?

Write to support@gulfmedethics.com and we will explain your options. The pass mark is 80%, and the knowledge checks through each course are there to help you prepare.

How these courses are built

Official sources only
Every legal and regulatory point comes from primary sources: Saudi laws and implementing regulations, SCFHS codes and guidance, and Ministry of Health publications. Anything we cannot confirm is left out.
Original, edition by edition
Lessons, scenarios and assessment questions are written by us for each edition separately, then checked for accuracy, teaching quality and fair assessment before publication.
