Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions practitioners ask most before they enrol: SCFHS renewal, complaints and committees, certificates, access, prices and refunds.

Before you read the answers

These answers apply to the Saudi Arabia edition, the only edition open at present. For the detail behind SCFHS renewal, complaints and committees, see our guides to SCFHS CPD hours, 937 complaints, the Health Violations Committee and Sharia Health Panel and medical malpractice. All questions

Do your courses give SCFHS CPD hours?

No. Our courses do not carry SCFHS CPD hours. SCFHS decides how any learning counts towards your registration; you can apply to SCFHS through the Recognition of CPD Hours service in Mumaris Plus to have learning recognised. SCFHS lists a fee of SAR 100 and 30 business days for that service.

How many CPD hours does SCFHS ask for at renewal?

SCFHS publishes 20 hours for technicians, 40 for specialists, 40 for pharmacists and 60 for doctors at re-registration. Registration lasts two years. If the hours are not complete, SCFHS states that it renews for one year only, and that this concession can be used once. Check the SCFHS re-registration page for the current figures.

Are your courses linked to SCFHS or the Ministry of Health?

No. We are an independent CPD course provider. Our courses explain the SCFHS Code of Ethics, Saudi law and MOH guidance, but no authority has reviewed or backs them.

I have received a 937 complaint. Should I take a course now?

Many practitioners find it helps to study the standard involved while the complaint is open, because it shapes a clearer, more reflective response. Speak to your lawyer or malpractice insurer before you write anything about the case. A course supports your response; it does not decide the outcome.

Will a course satisfy a Health Violations Committee or Sharia Health Panel decision?

Only the body that made the decision can say what it accepts. If a decision names particular training, check with that body before you enrol. Our core course explains how each body works and how to prepare, and topic courses cover the standards most often in question.

How long is each course and what is the pass mark?

Courses are 2, 3 or 4 hours. The final assessment has 20 scenario-based questions, or 30 in the 4-hour Health Violations Committee and Sharia Health Panel course. You need 80% to pass.

What happens if I fail the final assessment?

You can review the course and try again. Going back over the sections behind the questions you missed is the quickest route to a pass.

What does the certificate show?

Your name, the course title, the Saudi Arabia edition, the learning hours, the date you passed and a unique certificate ID. It confirms that you completed the course and passed its assessment. It does not certify clinical competence.

What is the reflective account template for?

It guides you to record what prompted the learning, what you took from it, what you will change and how you will show the change. It is useful for renewal records and, if you are responding to a concern, for showing insight. Keep patient details out of it.

How long do I have access?

12 months from purchase. You can study at your own pace on any device, and your progress is saved.

How much do courses cost?

SAR 229 for a 2-hour course, SAR 279 for a 3-hour course and SAR 319 for the 4-hour core remediation course. Savings apply automatically in the cart: SAR 115 off 3 or more courses, SAR 175 off 5 or more and SAR 290 off 10 or more.

Which course should I start with after a complaint?

Start with the topic of the concern, for example consent, records or communication, then add a process course such as responding to a 937 complaint or the core committee course. Our remediation page groups courses by concern to make this easier.

Are the courses only in English?

Yes, at present. They are written in plain English, and Saudi legal terms are explained when they first appear.

Who can see my assessment answers and reflections?

Only you, and the small number of our staff who need access to support your account. We do not share them with SCFHS, the Ministry of Health, your employer or anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase if you have viewed less than 20% of the course and no certificate has been issued. Our refund policy explains the details.

Can I buy courses for my team or department?

Yes. Cart savings apply from 3 courses, and you can contact us about enrolling a group of learners.

I work in Saudi Arabia but trained abroad. Are the courses suitable?

Yes. They are written with expatriate practitioners in mind and point out where Saudi rules differ from what many people learned in training, for example on consent, publicity and the committee routes.

Will there be editions for other Gulf states?

Editions for the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain are planned but not open yet. Each will be researched from that country's own law before it is published.
